Barrel Back Restaurant

My server, Christopher, was great; kept checking in on me throughout my time there, kept my water full, and was very kind and easy to talk to! The food was sooo good, I had the chicken Alfredo, and fries it’s a beautiful restaurant all together, keep it up!!!

Very cool place. First timer there. Greeted by the hostess right away, and we were sat my by the window. The place is really cool, fire place in the middle of the dining room. Christopher was our server, he was very nice, friendly and attentive. He gave us time to think through on the food and drinks. Plus, he was very honest when I had asked him his opinions on the food items. We got Brisket Nachos, Aperol spritz, Brisket Melt, BBQ chix Pizza, and caramel martini. Overall, good food, good drinks, nice place, and wonderful server.

We were looking for a nice place to have dinner without breaking the bank and Barrel Back was just the ticket. The view of Walloon Lake was beautiful. Our waitress Haley was polite, efficient and friendly. The prices were reasonable but the menu gives you a good variety of options and prices. We opened with the Elote soup which has a nice flavor and was nice way to open the meal. I had the shrimp and grits and it was delicious. My wife had the pasta which was lite and tasted very good. Will go there again the next time we are in the Walloon Lake area.

The Barrel Back is one of Northern Michigan's hidden gems on Walloon Lake. A great place for excellent food and tasty drinks with a sizable bar and dining area overlooking the lake. A great place to watch the sunset! Located over top of a unique lake front shop which specializes in outdoor water sports apparel and many unique items related to the lake life. The staff was very personable and friendly. They were knowledgeable of the menu and very accommodating with specific requests! I would truly recommend anything from their menu! I've never been disappointed with any meal here!

What a great find in this small area. You will not find better views and the food was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and really helpful with an uneven table. The soft pretzel was incredible and my husband had the brisket chili and said the bite to it was pleasant. Would come back if I was in the area for sure.

One of my favorite up north restaurants. The food is always very good. The dining area was busy and we were told there would be a wait. Ended up sitting at the bar and had excellent service!! Make sure to get the carrot cake even if you have to get it to go! So worth it!!

This place was amazing. We had the bruchetta for an app and it was amazing! My husband got the brisket and I had the steak fritz. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned really well. And the blackberry cobbler was fantastic. Date night was amazing here.

We stopped in on a Friday night for an early dinner. We sat and were served immediately. Our server Christopher was awesome.. The chocolate martini was on point. We got the Perogi as an appetizer. I was a little disappointed with the bacon and kraut not being inside but still delicious. We got the pasta, chicken bbq pizza and cuban. All were flavorful and hit the spot. The view is to die, for and the ambiance is phenomenal.We will be back when we are in the area.
